You may not be able to see certain providers
“Not accepting new patients.” “Not accepting your insurance.” Not priced for your budget. These are reasons people get turned away.

Can I Get Help in San Francisco?

In San Francisco, about 150,000 adults suffer a mental illness annually. Unfortunately, less than half will seek treatment.
The good news: there is 1 psychiatrist for every 200 people who need treatment. But, not everyone with a mental illness will need psychiatric care.

The numbers for therapy are even better: 1 therapist for every 25 adults who need treatment.
These numbers should tell you resources are relatively plentiful in San Francisco. Treatment is available to you if you want it.
